Since 1988, Alloway has been a leader in training
key laboratory staff who must provide defensible data.
Your analysts, chemists and biologists will gain a clear understanding
of proper laboratory procedures, program management, quality control,
and constantly changing regulatory and technology issues. Regular
training sessions are scheduled throughout the year or we can customize
training to meet your specific needs. We are able to offer training
at your location or one of our facilities.
Your Alloway training options include:
General Laboratory Training Courses in
CD format: Basic to advanced laboratory
procedures and instrumentation courses are self-paced so you can
participate at your convenience and review the material when you
need it.
- You can learn at your facility. It is not necessary
to travel and incur expenses associated with seminars. This is
especially important with today's budget constraints.
- The course cost is low, especially when compared
to seminars and other forms of training.
- The course incorporates multiple training techniques,
including video, photographs, text, EPA reference materials, and
telephone support.
- The knowledge can help you perform sampling
that may have been subcontracted, saving money.
- The information can help you achieve compliance,
whether you perform the sampling, or you subcontract the sampling.
This information can help evaluate the sampling process. Remember
that subcontracting does not relieve you of responsibility.
Web-Ex Environmental Laboratory Training
Sessions: Dynamic, interactive, one-hour
sessions bring the newest information to your work environment.
This allows your staff to remain onsite while keeping up to date
on various aspects of environmental laboratory methods and operations.
Internet and phone connection required. Sessions can be customized
for your group.
- Web-ex Training courses cover topics such as
certification issues and requirements, document control, sample
handling, method detection levels, method compliance issues, accuracy,
precision, corrective action, reagent traceability, method procedures,
and more.
- All you need is an Internet connection and
a telephone. Register for a class, and Alloway will provide you
a phone number to call and a password to use just prior to the
class. At the scheduled time, go to the directed web page and
dial the phone number — just follow the instructions provided.
You will then be connected to the class. The instructor will take
you through the session. If you have a speakerphone, a number
of people in your organization can participate for one low cost.
You can ask questions and interact with the rest of the group.
It’s easy, effective, and inexpensive.
- You can participate from wherever you are. No
travel expenses or lost time from work! It’s effective.
You get the same instructor you would in a classroom! Most importantly,
the contents of the course will become an important part of your
continuous improvement plan, allowing you and your laboratory
to grow.
Customized On-Site Training Programs:
Designed for specific needs to include your
entire staff. Sessions can be held via Web-Ex or at your facility.
Maximize the use of your time with very specific testing tailored
to your specific needs.
- Alloway can customize courses for you at your
facility on any number of scientific disciplines including subjects
such as:
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Microbiology
- Instrumentation

- GC
- GC/MS
- AA
- ICP

Seminars and Workshops: Our
seminars have a broad appeal and many courses are applicable to
laboratories of all disciplines. We feature a comprehensive two-day
overview of quality control and quality assurance for private, industrial
and municipal laboratories. Other in-depth seminars feature sample
handling, document control, reagent traceability, standard operating
procedures, and general chemistry and microbiology laboratory techniques.
We feature an entire series of seminars on environmental sampling
and analysis, including field measurements, Oxygen Demand, Nitrogen
Series, Instrumental Determinations, General Chemistry and Microbiology,
and laboratory techniques.
Our workshops are informational in nature and typically feature
guest speakers who specialize in the topics presented and/or represent
government agencies or industry organizations.
