Data Verification and Internal Quality Control Activities

WEB-EX INTERNET TRAINING AGENDA

Who should participate: This one-hour course is directed toward water and wastewater superintendents, laboratory managers and analysts, quality control officers, and operators who perform laboratory or field measurements. The course is particularly beneficial to those who are looking for improvements within their laboratory.

Learning objectives: This course will cover decision-making based on the batch quality control data such as blanks, calibration verifications, control sample and spike. The use of computer programs to perform calculations and their verification will be reviewed. Making data and decisions about samples in batches that have quality control failures and how to use decision trees will be presented in the course. After the course, the participant will know how to determine if contamination is present and its significance. The participant also will be able to determine if the analytical process is in control and how to address out of control situations.

Course Description:
The course takes you through detailed information dealing with Level 1 and 2 of data verification. You will know how to determine the handling of samples along with the process steps that will be necessary to follow. Additionally, the importance of acceptable reporting and corrective action will be explained.
