Performing MDL Studies: Method Detection Limits

WEB-EX INTERNET TRAINING AGENDA

Who should participate: This one-hour course is for laboratory directors,
managers, analysts, quality control officers, and operators who oversee or
perform laboratory or field measurements, and particularly those who may be
called upon to validate the levels of detection and the method. The course
will benefit those specifically who must validate data based upon the
accuracy of data, especially at low reporting levels.

Learning objectives: Attendees will learn how to differentiate between
various types of reporting levels, especially between method detection
limits and practical quantitation limits. You will learn about procedures
used to calculate these limits, and what factors enter into a valid MDL
study.

Course Description: The course clearly defines the various types of
reporting levels. The method and procedure itself are covered in detail as
specified in the Code of Federal Regulations. The course reviews
requirements for a valid MDL Study. The course incorporates interactive
problems sets attendees work through to actually calculate MDL's and perform
tests for validity.
