John Hoffman, Alloway's President, Receives Master's Degree from Miami University’s Project Dragonfly

John Hoffman, President of Alloway, graduated on December 12th, 2014 with a Master of Arts in Zoology from Miami University through Project Dragonfly’s Global Field Program. Miami University’s Global Field Program “brings together master’s degree candidates, scientists, educators, and community leaders at key conservation sites across the globe for firsthand experience with inquiry-driven education, environmental stewardship, and global understanding”(Miami University Merit Pages). Through the course of the program, John Hoffman has explored conservation and education in Belize, Baja, and Kenya, while also conducting many community projects in the Lima, Ohio area.

In addition to his newly earned degree, John was also awarded a leadership badge from Miami University for “demonstrating collaborative leadership skills that have helped bring about positive change in his community” (Miami University Merit Pages). As part of his capstone course, John Hoffman founded the Inquiry Based Learning Institute with the mission of providing professional development for formal and non-formal educators in the areas of inquiry based learning and instruction methods.
